Buddha sits peacefully with his legs crossed, holding an alms bowl. His right hand presenting the “gesture of argument”, “gesture of debate” or “discussion” mudra; symbolizing teaching, intellectual argument and debate. The alms bowl in his left hand signifies care and compassion for all beings as well as wealth and abundance. The auspicious symbol of the white conch shell (Shankha) adorns Buddhas right chest. The white conch shell symbolizes Buddhas deep far-reaching melodious teachings. The sun and the moon on his back represents the union of compassion and wisdom.
